Jörn Schiemann, Dipl.-Ing. architect

Jörn Schiemann is founding partner of schiemann weyers architects, Rotterdam. After graduating from the Technical University in Darmstadt (D) he worked as an architect / urban planner at West 8 landscape architects and DKV architecten. In 2007, he established schiemann weyers architects with Otto Weyers.
He has taught at the Rotterdam Academie van Bouwkunst, the Samara State University, the Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen, the Technical University of Delft and at the Academie van Bouwkunst Amsterdam. In 2011 he joined the editorial board of the architectural magazine FORUM, where he collaborated until 2017.
From 2012 to 2015, together with Otto Weyers, he was urban planning advisor of the City Projects Bureau in Perm, where he was engaged with advisory tasks on implementing the Perm Strategic Masterplan.
Jörn Schiemann is co-author and editor of the case study project and book publication ‘The Samarsky Yard’; an investigation on general mechanisms of city-forming and renewal, with a focus on sustainable and inclusive urban development in the city of Samara.
