The title of the competition entry, ‘No-Stop House’, refers
to the thematic approach of the design. The individual house is interpreted
as a ‘personal universe’. An architectonic framework guarantees
endless spatial and programmatic possibilities for the individual
user. Leading idea is ‘sustainability’ in the sense of
allowing for future changes and adaptation – without ignoring
building physics and innovative technological aspects.
The role of the architect is rather limited, with a stress on building
management. Priority is on coordinating and advising tasks and less
on designing or decorating matters.
